Building a Better Way of Life With Habitat for Humanity

Our vision is "to improve the world and how people live by creating meaningful experiences and places of great distinction." And we're doing just that across all business areas of HHHunt. We also promise to be Engaged Community Partners in the local communities where we live, work and play. One way HHHunt is dedicated to fulfilling this vision and brand promise is by partnering with Habitat for Humanity. With a partnership spanning over two decades, in 2018 we officially chose Habitat for Humanity as our Corporate Philanthropic Partner. This partnership made sense because Habitat for Humanity has locations in our markets and prioritizes a vision that matches our own. They have opportunities for all ages and skill sets and focus on areas that we also believe are important, like home construction, home preservation, youth programs, disaster response, global opportunities and homeownership coaching. Who is Habitat for Humanity?

Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat's vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity works towards its vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

Partnering with Habitat for Humanity makes sense for us! With locations throughout the states we operate in, all our team members can easily find ways to partner with them. Each Habitat for Humanity location offers our team members and the local communities unique ways to serve their community best. We love this partnership that allows us both to fulfill our visions.

A Partnership Beyond a Donation

As an Engaged Community Partner, we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others by being active and visible in our communities, sharing our time, talents and resources and encouraging, supporting and recognizing volunteerism in our employees. We're about more than cutting a check in HHHunt's name; we find deep and personal value in working alongside Habitat for Humanity employees and volunteers to experience firsthand the difference they are making in the local community. 

Since the beginning of our partnership, our team members have completed thousands volunteer hours. Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity allows our team members at any skill level to participate in a variety of activities, such as framing the home's walls, landscaping the yard, painting the interior walls or working in their warehouses. We've also created video content for them that they've shared on their social media channels. 

Engaged Community Partner Opportunities

We love that Habitat for Humanity has given our team members a variety of projects to participate in. Our team members return to the office feeling fulfilled by giving back to the local community. Check out a few of the opportunities we've been a part of over the years.

Our Corporate Marketing Team partnered with the Downtown Richmond ReStore and unloaded three trucks, cleaned and tested appliances and electronics, organized product, priced items and broke down five carts of cardboard. They also were able to help a few shoppers load items purchased into their cars. 

HHHunt Homes and HHHunt Communities team members partnered with Habitat for Humanity Goochland. They assisted in the roofing and sheathing for a new home build.

Our HHHunt Homes team members in the Hampton Roads area partnered with Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg by constructing 24 wall panels for a home that will be located in Williamsburg, VA. This project completed an entire home with interior and exterior walls when erected. 

Abberly Woods team members partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte, NC and installed soffit as part of  a home project.

Here at HHHunt, it's how you live that matters, and each of the stories above exemplifies how we can make a positive difference in the lives of others through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. We know that each opportunity will impact the local community and give the recipient family a place to create their own memories throughout the years to come.

At HHHunt, we also work with many local non-profit organizations like animal rescue centers, food pantries, YMCA, Salvation Army and more in the communities where we live, work and play. At the time of this blog, over 400 volunteer hours have been completed by our team members, with over 96.5 of those hours being with Habitat for Humanity! Just last year, our team members completed almost 700 volunteer hours. As our teams grow, our opportunities to be Engaged Community Partners also grow. We are so thankful to our team members and appreciate their passion for giving back to the local community.
