Companies focused on technology and innovation have long been a staple of the area. Research Triangle Park (RTP) sits directly adjacent to Cary and has over 375 established and startup companies employing over 60,000 people. Some of the biggest names in technology and science have a presence in RTP, including Google, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Lenovo, BASF, BioGen and hundreds of others. In 2021, Apple announced that it would build its East Coast Headquarters in RTP and hire 3,000 employees. Additionally, Cary borders the City of Raleigh, which has become an epicenter for financial services, hospitality and government employment opportunities. Top-Ranked Schools in Wake County

Cary is located in Wake County, North Carolina, which has one of the best school systems in the United States. Offering traditional K-12 instruction and over 40 themed-based magnet schools specializing in concentrations like STEM and Global Studies, the Wake County Public School System ranks among the best for graduation rates, SAT scores, and AP results. Around 35 percent of teachers in the school system have an advanced degree, and 10 percent are National Board-certified. The Wake County Public School System is the first in the country to have partnered with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. There are also numerous specialty programs, including JROTC and Alternative Schools. All of these factors have made Wake County Public Schools the envy of the country, with top rankings in educational outcomes.

Low-Cost of Living in Cary

The State of North Carolina and Wake County offer a low cost of living thanks largely to their business-friendly policies, low tax burden and fiscally conservative positions. In fact, all of North Carolina's major population centers have received the most favorable scores on the Council for Community and Economic Research's acclaimed cost of living index. Bond Metro Park with a lake for boating.

Ashworth Drugs has been making homemade orangeades, coke floats, and hot dogs since 1957. Cary also has numerous award-winning breweries, including Bond Brothers Beer Company, Fortnight Brewing Company and Cotton House Craft Brewers.
