On August 23, 2022, representatives from HHHunt and Henrico County, Virginia gathered to celebrate the opening of the extension of Woodman Road. The Woodman Road extension originally envisioned in 1957, spans 1.3 miles and links Greenwood Road to JEB Stuart Parkway and the Brook Road corridor. To make this long-term infrastructure project a reality, HHHunt partnered with Henrico County to build the corridor which sits adjacent to River Mill by HHHunt.
The Woodman Road extension will provide easy access for residents and tourists to the County’s new indoor sports arena under construction at the Virginia Center Commons site. It will also provide fast access to Glover Park, a 200-acre complex featuring synthetic turf athletic fields. The park is currently being expanded to offer additional fields and baseball facilities.
“There is a lot of exciting activity underway in this part of the county, and the Woodman Road extension will help propel all of it. The road will provide key access for residents of the new River Mill community, which continues to grow and develop,” said Frank J. Thornton, Supervisor for the Fairfield District. “It will offer a new western connection to the Brook Road corridor and specifically to the former Virginia Center Commons site, which is being reinvented as a mixed-use community featuring the county’s first indoor sports arena and convocation center.”
Daniel J. Schmitt, Supervisor for the Brookland District, added: “I too would like to recognize our hard-working staff and our friends from HHHunt for helping us reach this moment. I think this project represents one of Henrico County’s strengths and defining characteristics — our willingness and ability to create partnerships to get the job done.”
At HHHunt, we believe it’s how you live that matters and we are thrilled that we were able to partner with Henrico County to achieve this long-term goal.
We’re glad you’re here, and we’d love to connect with you.
